#Cricket mobile data not working update
Usually when a carrier settings update is available, you’ll receive a pop-up on your iPhone that says “Carrier Settings Update”. Apple and your wireless carrier release updates in order to help your iPhone connect to your wireless carrier’s network more efficiently. Our next step when iPhone Cellular Data is not working is to check for a carrier settings update. Wait a few seconds, then press and hold the power button (iPhone 8 or earlier) or the side button (iPhone X) until the Apple logo flashes onto the center of the screen. Then, slide the red and white power icon from left to right to turn off your iPhone. If you have an iPhone X, press and hold either volume button and the side button until “slide to power off” appears. To turn off your iPhone 8 or earlier, press and hold the power button until “slide to power off” appears near the top of the display.
#Cricket mobile data not working software
It’s possible your iPhone’s software or a specific app has crashed, preventing Cellular Data from working. If iPhone Cellular Data is not working even though it’s turned on in the Settings app, try restarting your iPhone. This will give Cellular Data a fresh start, just in case it’s not working because of a minor software glitch. If Cellular Data is already on, try toggling the switch off and back on. You’ll know Cellular Data in on when the switch is green. Go to Settings -> Cellular and turn on the switch next to Cellular Data at the top of screen. Now that we’re sure Airplane Mode is off, let’s make sure cellular data is on. You’ll know Airplane Mode is off when the button is gray and white, not orange and white. When my issue happens I'm not on the WiFi.You can also turn off Airplane Mode by opening Control Center and tapping the Airplane Mode button. I know that some of the iPhone models are having some connectivity issues with WiFi and I'm not sure if this is related or not. I've taken the phone to Apple and they claim it's a carrier issue. I've even tried to get a new sim card and that did nothing. Another claimed the entire Cricket network in the Chicagoland area is degraded (yeah, right). Another remove and reapplied my phone plan. One claimed to reset "network things" on the backend.

I've repeatedly tried to talk to Cricket and they are usually no help. Maybe there's a problem with cell tower handoff and the Intel modem that's in my model of phone? Here's an album with some examples of what I see. Multiple times daily.įor instance, this happened last night while I was on the commuter train and over a span of 25 minutes it just wouldn't load anything (I didn't reset the modem just to see how long it would take to self correct). It will immediately reconnect to the cell tower and data will immediately start working. Typically the only way I can get it to work again is by dropping my phone into airplane mode (or restart) and then back out. Netflix says I have no internet connection. But the data stream will just stop working. I never technically lose connection to the cell towers and when the issue happens I can have anywhere from 1-5 bars of service. I've been having a bit of a weird problem with Cricket for 6+ months and I'm near my wit's end trying to get it resolved.įor quite some time now I've been having an intermittent issue with the data connection on my iPhone X (A1901/TMobile model).
